You’re only HALF an England fan, unless you support the men AND women’s football teams.
That was our patriotic and punchy message to get more young men to
‘Go FULL Fan’ this summer in support of the Lionesses in the UEFA Euros.
(Good job, we did, because they only bloody brought it home 🏆)
NUTS for the Lionesses
‘Go Full Fan’ not only reminded die hard England fans, of their unconscious bias towards the women’s game,
but brought more media attention to the sport after a 50 year ban and a DIRE lack of funding.
The women’s team literally get paid peanuts in comparison to the men’s.
But, we didn’t stop there.
We challenged automatic gender bias with a series of short questions
most would assume a male player is the answer…
SHOCK…THEY’RE NOT.
And on the big day, when 17.6 million people tuned in to watch the Lionesses beat Germany 2-1 (England’s first major win since ‘66) we launched with these
’Hometown Heroes’ 6 sheets, drumming up local pride across the UK.
We also brought our banners to an England’s men’s friendly before the Euro’s kicked off. We lost 2-0 to Hungary that day. You’re not you when you play Hungary.
We even redirected people away from searching for other 'sports’ to watch over the
summer, targeting them on Twitter after the PL finished.
